What is your licensing Model?
Encore licenses its technology both in Source code and object code forms on a non-exclusive basis. We charge an upfront Fixed fee and a recurring Royalty fee.
What are the procedures involved in licensing an algorithm from Encore?
Once the customer is convinced with the product he/she is interested in, Encore will forward a draft copy of the Software License Agreement that both parties have to sign before the licensing could take place. This agreement will have the terms and conditions of the licensing apart from the commercial terms.
Usually an advance payment immediately follows the signing process and then the delivery takes place if the product is readily available or a staggered delivery if the product(s) are
in development stage.
Do you license the C Code of the
Modem Standards?
Yes.
Do you provide patent indemnification?
No, as Encore is not the end-user and merely implements the standard, the customer
would have to buy the patent from the patent
holder(s).
