Encore has developed T.38 based Fax Relay solution. This solution is designed around a flexible, programmable architecture, in which the basic data pump (ITU-T V.17, V.29, V.27ter, V.21 modulation/demodulation protocols) and T.38 compliant relay state machine are implemented. These protocols are written as highly modular libraries, which can be easily incorporated in various DSP and embedded applications, such as the T.38 Fax Over IP (T.38 FoIP) solutions and T.38 fax gateways.

The basic data pump has been exhaustively tested on a telephone network emulator for various line impairments and for inter-working. The fax relay software has been tested against typical internet impairments such as packet loss, delay, jitter etc. and also on public internet during high network traffic conditions. The T.38 fax relay software has been tested for interoperability against different T.38 gateways and T.38 enabled ATAs.

Fax relay solution has been implemented on various DSP and embedded platforms such as TI DSPs, ZSP400, BlackFin, ColdFire, PowerQUICC. However, Encore is also willing to take up customization/optimization of these technologies to clients target platforms.
