The Encore Relay technology for Fax is designed around a flexible, programmable architecture, in which the basic modulation/demodulation protocols and T.38 compliant relay state machine are both implemented. This technology implements ITU-T modulation protocol standards for fax modems. The basic datapump has been exhaustively tested on a telephone network emulator for various line impairments and for interworking. The relay software has been tested against typical internet impairments such as packet loss, delay, jitter etc. The interface has the flexibility of running T.38 protocol and data pump on different processors.
