AEC cancels the echo produced by the acoustic path from speaker to mic. AEC is an important processing unit in any speaker phone system including voice-conferencing, hand free systems such as IP phone, speaker phones etc.

The Encore’s AEC algorithm is based on advanced adaptive filter algorithm with robust double talk detection. The AEC algorithm is capable of handling non-linear harmonic distortion which would come from speaker path non-linearity.

Currently Encore’s AEC is available on TI’s TMS320C64x (c64x), TMS320C55x (c55x), ZSP400, ZSP200, Coldfire (MCF52xx, MCF53xx, MCF522xx) platforms.
