The Encore’s AGC algorithm is comprised of Voice Activity Detection (VAD) and adaptive gain control. This algorithm is used to adaptively control the dynamic range of the speech signal without amplifying the noise and hence resulting in improved voice quality. This module is necessary on both transmit and receive direction in any VoIP system.
