The PLC is necessary in packet based systems to recover packet losses and keep the voice quality to acceptable level during the packet loss. The Encore’s PLC implementation is based on synthesizing the current speech frame based on the past speech history. This implementation is based on G.711 Appendix-1 and can be used in any speech codecs which does not have in built PLC.
